Busyness

Busy week. I hung out with my mom on FaceTime one day, and my dad the next. I love talking to my parents. Today a package arrived – always a special event living on this island, it seems like. In the box was a set of Sennelier iridescent soft pastels I am so excited to use, a gorgeous Catholic women’s Bible I’ve been digging into this afternoon, and neon oil pastels.

It has been peaceful, which I like because I’ve also been low and tired. I am going to Mass and Confession next week. I’ve been missing too much church.

I am trying to walk in faith. The Catholic Church has answered questions for me that I couldn’t get answered before. I feel like I finally know the truth. But believing in such an overpowering grace that you can receive forgiveness no matter how many times you screw up, is hard sometimes. Especially because of all the verses about knowing a tree by its fruit and gathering the unproductive and throwing them into the fire. I look forward to walking out of Confession. Because even though I’ll probably cry when I’m in there, and it’s never comfortable to have to do that, I will feel forgiven. It’s a fresh start.

I don’t need to cook dinner tonight because we have leftovers. Since I’m tired, I’m glad about that. I plan to do my therapy app tonight. Tomorrow I have laundry, vacuuming, and a bunch of other stuff to do.
