New Camera

The other morning, I woke up and felt like crap. I’m sure you’re shocked. Lisa not feeling well? What a rarity!

But for some reason, I realized that one thing that would help that day was a new camera. I just had the strongest itch to get a new camera. And very quickly, I settled on which one I wanted. My local store stocks instax mini evos. The camera is a hybrid of digital and instax. It remembers up to about 40 photos and lets you choose which ones you want to print out. So it’s not a true film camera in that the light goes to a sensor and not straight to the film, but it does print on instax mini film, and it looks really nice. And what really drew me in is that this camera has a hundred different setting combinations that my other cameras don’t have. Now, my instax mini 99 is still the best camera of all time, especially for instant cameras, and it does a lot, but there are effects on this one that that one doesn’t have just like there are effects that that one has that this one doesn’t. I basically collect instant film cameras, so I splurged. I went to the store and got myself a new camera. My daughter went with me because school was canceled because of the storm damage. Getting to the back of the store to find it was physically painful. But I made it. And since then I’ve been playing with it.

Confession: it is the second camera I bought this week. I have also ordered a Lomo Instant Square Glass, but it won’t arrive for a couple of months maybe.

Photography helps me get through rough patches.
