Last night I deleted my longest standing Instagram account. I have had it for at least 10 years. It was a record of my life.
I decided I don’t want to share my life on Instagram anymore. I kept my art account, as well as the account where I network dogs. But my days of being public about my life and feelings are done. Maintaining this blog is still a high priority for me, but for some reason while I’m happy to be personal on my blog, I’m not happy to be personal on Instagram anymore. I suppose part of it is that I don’t like Meta, the company. But part of it is that the blog allows for more creative output and greater personalization. Moreover, the content is evergreen.
Getting rid of my personal account will help me focus more on my housework, reading, and writing. As I consider consecrating my life and creativity to God, I think I need to make more space and peace in my life. So now in 2026 I’ve gotten rid of my trad wife Instagram and my personal/writing account. I wonder what other changes I’ll make.
