Next Semester

I want to design another personal curriculum for this semester for Stay at Home University, or SAHU as I sometimes call it.

I want to continue my unit on horror, delving into short stories and maybe even a novel or two. For the past several months, I have been devouring books on the art of writing horror, and reading some good stories. I’m not ready to give it up. I feel I need more.

Mary is another topic of interest. I want to study how to be her daughter. Deepening my faith is important to me. I got a few books from Ascension Press. Reading them is high priority. So far I have horror and the Virgin Mary. What disparate subjects!

What else? I am open to topic suggestions in science, social sciences, literature, history, or art. Maybe I’ll read a book on birth order. That would be fun to study. I have several books that I have read before on tbat subject. But that was prior to having ECT and I don’t remember what they said. Maybe I should revisit.

Honestly, since so much of my brain seems to have been deleted, and since people naturally forget some stuff over time anyway, I should probably explore my library to see where I should start with my curriculum. Then find mew sources on Hoopla, Libby, and Amazon.

Surrealism in literature and poetry is one potential subject. Childhood histories of famous and lesser known women writers is another. Dreaming, the science of it, may be another.

I want to get good with my Instax Mini 99 camera. So that’s a practical artistic skill I can work on. Last semester I meant to scrapbook but I never ended up doing it. This semester I might delve into collage – from making them myself to studying the works of great collage artists. Or maybe I need some kind of hybrid journaling, where I combine the visual with the written in a document. Like a sort of living journal with videos, art, photos, and writing. I don’t think i’m doing a good job of explaining this as it kind of sounds like a blog as I talk about it. But I mean something where you could isolate individual pages as art. I am writing my sixth multi genre book, but so far I have only poetry. What if I go wild? I need to look into the history of multimedia expression and find apps that could help me do this.

Do you have any ideas, dear reader? If you do, comment or email me. I was also thinking the history of ballet, Asian women poets, femininity, science fiction since 2000, or wolves.
